BENTONITE DESANDERS

SD SERIES
The SD series desanders manufactured by SAICI are specially designed for the treatment of bentonite mud used in the drilling works in piles and Milan wall for deep foundation. The bentonite mud is treated and washed by separating solid contaminant matter such as fine sands, clay, sludge and organic materials.
The first treatment, i.e. roughing, is carried out on the steel grid, whereby parts larger than 8 mm are separated; then the mud is stored in the tank and from here it is sucked by the pump and conveyed to the hydrocyclone. All particles larger than 40/50 microns are separated here. All elements subject to wear are made of specially selected and treated materials.

SD/HPD SERIES
SAICI produces a new series of double cyclone desanders specially designed to treat bentonite muds used in large boreholes. The bentonite sludge is treated and washed by separating solid contaminant matter such as fine sands, clay, sludge and organic materials.
The first treatment, that is, roughing, is carried out on the steel grid, whereby parts larger than 8 mm are separated; the mud is then stored in the tank and from here it is sucked by the pump and conveyed to the hydrocyclone. Here all particles larger than 40/50 microns are separated.
The treated sludge flows to a secondary pump and from here it is sent to the cyclone assembly with a smaller diameter for the second treatment. The separation efficiency of the double cyclone desander can reach values up to d50=30 microns.
The machine can be configured to work also with a passage as a standard desander.

BENTONITE TURBO MIXERS

STM SERIES
The STM turbomixer consists of a cylindrical steel sheet tank, mounted on a strong frame. The sludge is mixed through a high-speed vortex produced by a special pump which, after suction from the bottom of the tank, sends it tangentially into the tank itself, in order to obtain higher efficiency. Through a timely operation of the system's throttling valves, the pump provides the transport of the muds to the storage vessel or to the borehole. Through this process it is possible to obtain a homogeneous colloidal and high quality mixture in a short time.

STMA SERIES
The SAICI STMA series turbomixers are specifically designed to treat bentonite slurries with semi-automatic procedures. Compared to the STM series, STMA turbomixers are equipped with automatic weighing and mixing systems. The semi-automatic system is completely autonomous.

STMD SERIES
Compared to the STMA series, STMD turbomixers are equipped with a soundproof diesel engine. This type of turbomixers is composed of cylindrical steel tanks established by a solid frame. During treatment the sludge is mixed through a high-speed vortex produced by a special pump. The pump draws the sludge from the bottom of the tank and then sends it tangentially into the tank which is formed in order to obtain the highest efficiency in the shortest time. Through the valve, the pump carries the sludge to the storage tank or to the borehole. This process allows to obtain a homogeneous colloidal and high quality mixture in a short time.
